Attorney Biography
Joe Lovell, an adept trial attorney and co-founding partner of Make Right Law, specializes in intricate civil litigation, encompassing catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, fire damage claims, and a myriad of civil and business disputes. He holds licenses to practice law in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. A second-generation litigator, Joe commenced his legal journey in Amarillo, Texas, in 1987 after a tenure in commercial banking. He initially co-founded Lovell, Lovell, Newsome & Isern, L.L.P., which later evolved into Lovell, Lovell, Isern & Farabough, L.L.P. With over three and a half decades of trial expertise, Joe is among the rare Texas attorneys doubly Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Additionally, his extensive civil appellate practice has resulted in numerous published opinions from both state and federal courts.
Joe graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics in 1980. Following a four-year stint as a commercial banker, he pursued his legal education at Texas Tech University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 1987. During law school, Joe amassed several accolades, including representing his institution in two intercollegiate mock trial teams, one of which emerged as regional champion and national quarterfinalist. He triumphed in three intra-school advanced mock trial competitions, served as Associate Editor of the Texas Tech Law Review, and was inducted into the exclusive Order of Barristers and the Order of the Coif. His academic excellence and advocacy skills earned him numerous awards.

Beyond his legal endeavors, Joe is a devoted family man with a wife and two sons. He is deeply rooted in the Amarillo community, actively supporting local initiatives and serving on the boards of Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch and the Armstrong County Museum and Goodnight Historical Center.
