This policy explains how NearLawyers.com (operated by an individual based in Türkiye, “we”) collects and uses personal information.

Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number and password when you register, including if you sign in with Facebook or Google.
• Listing information: the details lawyers and firms add to their profiles, such as name, firm, address, phone, website, practice areas, education, bar licenses and photos.
• Lawyer profiles from public sources: some profiles are compiled from publicly available professional information. Lawyers can ask us to correct or remove their profile at any time (see below).
• Messages: information you send through contact forms or by email.
• Usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and similar data collected through cookies and analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
• Payment information: payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. We do not receive or store your full card details. Paddle shares with us the information needed to manage your subscription, such as your name, email, country and plan.

How we use it

To operate the directory, display listings, deliver messages between users and lawyers, manage accounts and subscriptions, prevent spam and abuse, improve the Site, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site (hosting, email, analytics, spam protection, and Paddle for payments), with a lawyer when you choose to contact them, or when required by law.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and measure how the Site is used. You can control cookies through the cookie banner and your browser settings.

Retention

We keep account and listing data while your account or listing is active, and for a limited time afterwards where needed for legal, tax or security reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, Turkish KVKK or California CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Lawyers listed on the Site can request that their profile be corrected or removed. Email help@nearlawyers.com and we will respond within 30 days (profile removal requests within 7 days).

International transfers

The Site is operated from Türkiye and our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union.

Children

The Site is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
